A Table for Rubies was created to affirm the dignity, creativity, and humanity of disabled and neurodivergent children; and to honor lives and stories too often reduced to diagnosis, difference, or loss.
Through inclusive literature, community art, and compassionate remembrance, we create spaces where children and families can recognize themselves not through limitation, but through possibility, brilliance, and belonging.
Representation is not simply about being seen. It is about being seen whole.

Every child deserves to find themselves in the pages of a story.
Through our Inclusive Literature Initiative, A Table for Rubies places affirming books into the everyday spaces children already inhabit- from schools and childcare centers to medical offices and community spaces.
We center stories that portray disabled and neurodivergent children with dignity, joy, agency, and possibility because representation should do more than acknowledge that a child exists.
It should remind them that they belong.

Creativity gives children and families another language for being seen.
A Table for Rubies creates opportunities for emerging artists to use their craft in service of community, connection, and care. Through exhibitions, collaborative projects, and commissioned work, young artists are invited to explore stories that deserve space, attention, and thoughtful interpretation.
Our work values the process as much as the finished piece because art can make visible what words alone cannot always hold.
We create space for artists to witness, interpret, and honor.

Compassionate remembrance through art.
When a family is carrying loss, remembrance can become an act of love.
Through Rubies Remember, A Table for Rubies connects families with artists who create meaningful portraits honoring children and lives held close in memory. Each piece is approached with sensitivity, collaboration, and respect for the story a family chooses to share.
These portraits are not intended to define a life by its ending. They create space for memory, relationship, personality, and love to remain visible.
A life is more than its ending. We honor the whole story.
